What’s it about?
Essay Writing is a colourful and engaging course, which was produced exclusively for home-educators. It will show you all you need to know to be able to write essays that are cracking on any topic. I do not assume you have got any prior knowledge about essay writing, and so I’ll take you against the basics of sentence and paragraph structure, right the way through to how to plan and write effective essays.
A variety of typical essay styles are covered into the course, such as for example compare and contrast, analyse and explore and argue and discuss, together with plenty of practical exercises and detailed tutor feedback.
You’ll learn about essay presentation, too, and there’s even a section on how best to write essays for exams. I’ll show you how to write references as well (which will be important if you should be taking place to examine at college) and you can find seven tutor marked assignments, along with http://essay-911.com/ unlimited email and phone support.
Who is this program for?
An essay is a longer bit of writing and is the typical written form for all subjects that are academic. In fact it is hard to make it through any programme of academic study without having to be asked to write an essay sooner or later. For those who have always wished to learn how to write an excellent essay, this course is actually for you; it will help you to write an essay on almost any subject from GCSE level right up to your first year in Further or maybe more Education.
It is worth pointing out, however, that you don’t have to do the Essay writing course before you are doing the IGCSE English Language or Literature courses. Those courses include instruction and practice in the writing styles and formats for many subjects (which are not always essays, funnily enough). However the Essay course that is writing strengthen your talent in analysis, planning and writing of essays and also this will have a knock-on impact on the manner in which you think and write various other aspects of life. Most students who take the course say they feel far more confident about writing in general.
As with every my courses for older students it is possible to elect to take the course as downloadable pdf files or via a printed book. You will find 7 chapters covering every part of essay writing and 7 tutor marked assignments to assist you practise your skills. As with every my courses there is certainly unlimited (within reason!) email and phone support.
How long does the program take?
It varies. Most students take around 8 months you could get it done more quickly and take longer if you want (there is absolutely no time period limit on any of my courses).
What pace do I need to go at?
It’s important to go at your own personal pace – you ought ton’t feel you might be rushing the course, but nor should it is gathering dust regarding the shelf. You need to be feeling comfortably challenged but having a good time (when it comes to part that is most!).
Imagine if I get stuck?
Make a quick call or email me – I am here to greatly help! It is usually better to move on with the course and come back to it later if you have a block about a particular assignment.
Could I type my assignments?
Unless you’re likely to get dispensation to type in an eventual exam (so you have dyslexia or some other special requirement), I like assignments to be handwritten. We could all type more quickly you will eventually produce in the exam than we can write so typing assignments gives an unrealistic expectation of what. I am aware the Essay Writing is not an exam course, but handwriting is a motor skill you get so it’s important to practise at every opportunity! You can find exceptions, though, so make contact beside me if you are unsure.
How about special requirements that are educational?
A good thing to complete is pick the phone up and speak to me and tell me what you need. Over the years I have helped students with a variety of special requirements caused by dyslexia, Aspergers along with other physical or mental problems that get in the way of their power to do justice to themselves in English. I can’t promise that I’ll be able to help, but I will if I can help.
